环己烷别名六氢化苯，为无色有刺激性气味的液体。不溶于水，溶于多数有机溶剂。极易燃烧。一般用作一般溶剂、色谱分析标准物质及用于有机合成，可在树脂、涂料、脂肪、石蜡油类中应用，还可制备环己醇和环己酮等有机物。
